Photographers Unite! Shoot Your View of the Sun on Leap Day 2-29-2012

After having a conversation with some other viners we decided we would like to have everyone that want's to, shoot either the sunrise or the sunset on one day and all of us publish on the same day. So we've picked the last day of February the 29th, (Leap Day) to do this. In short, take pictures of either your sunrise or your sunset or both if you like on that day and then publish your article on Friday, March 2, 2012.

I'm thinking it will be really cool to see one day that Newsvine is flooded with images of the sun from all over the world! So let's see if we can get all of our friends that have a camera and want to participate. For ease of finding the articles, I suggest you add the tag " leap-day-sun, " (you can just copy the tag right from here) to your article so all we'll have to do is "watch" that tag. You don't have to belong to a particular group to participate, as long as you add the tag, everyone will be able to find the article.

So to sum it up, take your pictures on Wednesday Feb. 29th, publish on Friday March 2, and add the tag " leap-day-sun, ". Let's see how many folks we can get to do this and see the sun on one single day from vantage points all over the world!

Tell you friends that we'd like everyone to participate! They don't have to belong to a particular group, as long as they add the tag we'll be able to find the articles.

There will be some reminders posted later in the month so we won't forget to do this. But we're announcing now to gather up the largest number of folks we can!

Count me in! Allready on my calendar to do so. Have always like your sunset/sunrise pictures, and this is a great idea. Now if only the weather will co-operate and give me a good sunset!

Hope all is well with you, dear lady. ((((rottlady))))

Thank you rottlady for being so gracious and bringing this to fruition! I think we could do "world wide views" on any given day of certain subjects and it would be so fascinating. I am really looking forward to this and sure hope lots of folks add their "sunshine".

I see Stacy sometimes on Google+. I will ask her.

Haven't been many good opportunities for sunsets this week and I am not usually up for sunrises. However, that will change this week. I am temporarily going back on overnights as of this Friday. So my submission might be a sunrise. :)

Hey Ben, it's ok. Might not have been up to getting together last summer anyway. Was not a good summer for me. But as I recall we also had a history of meeting at Broadway Pizza on the coldest day of the winter. I do love that pizza!

For our area The Old Farmer's Almanac forecasts a snow storm from the 26th through the 29th. This should be challenging.... blue snow in the morning and rosey in the evening.

I think a snowy horizon makes a sunrise/sunset look pretty good. Just be sure to wrap up warm! I looked out my window tonight to see the sunset and all I was was gray clouds with no texture. Now that may be challenging to get a good pic, hopefully it'll pass.

I just checked my area and it looks about the same.

Good to see you are going to try GrayTherapy! You know, if you can't get your camera to work right you could always take a picture with your cell phone and email it to your computer, download and post. That is if you have a camera/phone.

I got your invite, but I'm already a member of so many groups that I hardly ever visit. Too little time and so much to do! Thanks anyway.
